I'm so glad you're here. I'm Nicole, the baker, home cook, full-time working wife, and bonus mom behind Hearth and Banter Bakery. By day, I'm juggling meetings, deadlines, and teenage-boy schedules. By night, you'll almost always find me in the kitchen, hair in a messy bun, music playing, and something warm in the oven. Cooking and baking have always been my way to unwind, process the day, and pour a little love into the people around me.

My sourdough journey actually started thanks to my sister, who convinced me to give it a try. I thought I was just saying yes to another baking project, but it quickly became so much more than that. There's something magical about feeding a starter, waiting for dough to rise, and pulling a crackling loaf from the oven. It slows me down in the best way and lets me be creative, whether I'm folding in herbs, cheeses, or something entirely unexpected.

These days, sourdough is my favorite hobby and playground. I love experimenting with new recipes and fun inclusions, and my sister has proudly claimed the title of "official taste tester." My husband is my biggest cheerleader, always encouraging me to chase new ideas — including turning this little passion of mine into a space where I can share it with others. Between his support and our teen's bottomless appetite, there's never a shortage of honest feedback or empty plates.
